The Polish government has started to implement a promise made by President Duda during his re-election campaign, giving vouchers for families to take holidays they might not be able to otherwise afford.
More than 300,000 vouchers, each worth 115 euros, were issued in the first three days of the scheme, from August 1. The vouchers can be used to pay for holiday accommodation in Poland and are valid until March 2022, enabling families to plan holidays next year as well as this.
“This money will make life easier for Polish families and will go directly to the Polish tourism industry in these difficult times of crisis,” the President said in June.
The vouchers must match businesses that have themselves registered to take part in the scheme.
