SPANISH ENERGY GROUP IN HUGE GREEN SHIFT

Spanish wind energy group Iberdrola’s plans to spend around $88 billion (67.5 billion pounds) on renewable power by 2025 eclipse Europe’s top oil companies’ combined planned investments in low-carbon over the same period. Royal Dutch Shell, BP, Total, Norway’s Equinor, Spain’s Repsol and Italy’s Eni aim to grow their low-carbon businesses after setting out plans to sharply reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the coming decades. GLASS CO. GOES FOR CANS

Ardagh Group is planning investments in its glass manufacturing facilities, its Chairman and Chief Executive Paul Coulson said. The glass and metals packager plans to invest $1.8 billion across its business over the next four years. The majority of this will be focused on its cans business with approximately 15% of this to be invested in its glass division. The investment will be in growth projects in Europe as well as cost reduction and efficiency enhancing projects in North America. SOURCE: glass-international.com

US LEGAL FIRM UPS EUROPEAN PUSH

Littler strikes deal with Spanish firm Abdón Pedrajas in latest European move. The partnership is US firm’s 10th in Europe, following agreements in Poland and Austria earlier this year. US law firm Littler Mendelson has joined forces with Spain’s Abdón Pedrajas as its European expansion continues. The alliance with employment specialists Abdón Pedrajas is the US firm’s 10th in the region and third this year following tie-ups with Poland’s PCS in June and Austria’s Gerlach Rechtsanwalte n February. HIGH FLIER JOINS WIZZ BOARD

Wizz Air said the former chief financial officer of British Airways-owner IAG had joined its board, the latest sign of the Hungary-based low cost airline’s bid to move into the top tier of European airlines. Wizz said that Enrique Dupuy de Lome Chavarri, who was IAG CFO from the founding of the group in 2011 to 2019, joined the Wizz board with effect from Wednesday.
